Hallo Peter,
please make sure whether you typed the right registration key without a space into the box.
then you have to enter “ok”.
if nothing happens anyway, you can go to http://www.magix.com and write an e-mail to our support team.
they will definitely help you. but normaly it works

Hello, I’ve installed FunPix under Linux (Ubuntu Hardy) through Wine. It works, but I’m unable to register. Only I can see a window asking to insert the extension provided by mail, but how can I get it if you dont’ know wich my mail address is?
Could you help?

Hello Dino,
first of all, can you please look up, whether a browser window opens, when you try to register?
if it does, you can copy the link from the windows browser into your linux browser and register over it.
if it doesn’t work, it will be a linux problem. our products only work with windows.
out of linux windows doesn’t find an internet access.

Thans anja for answering, the program does work perfect in Linux under Wine, the only problem is the registration, for Wine doesn’t open the browser. Is there any workaround to get the product registered?
I’ve registered myself on your site, but I cannot see any option about…
It should be nice even for your house knowing your product can be used in other-than-windows environment, don’t you agree?

Hi Dino,
it is really great to see, that you like using the funpix maker.
unfortunately there is no other way to help you.
the problem is that the TRIAL-key, which will be added to the URL, will be generated on the system at the moment of registration.
this key also contains certain hadware information.
because of the fact, that windows is not your host system, only a virtual guest system, this function is not available to you.
i’m sorry for that
but thanks for trying to find a solution to use our products “in other-than-windows environment”.

Dear Dino,
A colleague has contacted me again and suggested the following solution to your problem:
He had experienced a similar problem. The solution refers to VirtualPC. This may not work, but
it’s worth a try.
Selecting NAT (Network Address Translation) in the virtual network adapter might make it work.
(Settings for VirtualPC => Network => Common network (NAT) => VirtualPC_Network_Settings).
Internet Explorer must also be installed in your WINE so that registration is possible.
I hope this helps you with your registration.

Dear Anja,
thanks for the efforts. If I had room enough in my PC I would have already installed another OS (Windows), or a virtual machine like VirtualPC, or Virtualbox, or VMware to be able to switch from one to another OS. The one I have here is just on the border running Ubuntu (much lighter than Windows). Wine is not an emulator, just something imitating the Windows environment under Linux allowing some (not all) Windows programs running under Linux.
Anyhow I have Photoshop running under Wine and I can get similar effects with its tools and/or some plugins, even if not so effective, fast, easy and simple as I found FunPix Maker is.
I will use it in another PC I have in my main house, that’s running Linux and Windows as well.

Normally you should achieve the code after registration via e-mail.

this is not the full code. please check your mail again, then you’ll see there are letters in front of the number-code. you must tipe in them, too.
